Regional publisher, My Weekly Preview magazine, is expanding its services to offer the Sunshine Coast more access to local news via print media.
Founded 12 years ago, My Weekly Preview is a free, locally owned weekly magazine providing the Sunshine Coast community with local, property and lifestyle news.
Now, the My Weekly Preview team say that it is stepping up to offer more local news to the region following “in the wake of the demise of the only local newspaper”.
My Weekly Preview has added five new, experienced faces to the team to fill the void left by the closure of other media in recent weeks
Editor Candice Holznagel said the company was investing heavily and increasing coverage of local news to bring grassroots journalism to localised communities.
“We are simply continuing to do what we do well and increasing our commitment to printing relevant, local news. We’ve built an experienced team and will launch a new look, weekly magazine next week,” she said.
“Most importantly, we will deliver local news, free.”
Holznagel said the objective was to increase the volume of community-driven local news content as well as the magazine’s food, health, fashion, lifestyle, travel, sport and property.
“Print media is not dead, it is changing and adapting as it should, to meet readers’ needs and we are going to put more local news in their hands, fresh every week.Candice Holznagel, Editor, My Weekly Preview
“My Weekly Preview will retain all of the content readers have come to love, as we expand to comprehensively include more local news. Our much-loved high-quality, colourful design will remain.
“It’s a brand new day for the Sunshine Coast and My Weekly Preview will be a boon for local businesses to be able to really target and speak to audiences in their immediate local communities, boosting our region’s economy, jobs and interest in good news and exciting projects our region has to share.”
The expanded My Weekly Preview magazine will launch on 24 July.
