Sydney-based B2B publisher The Intermedia Group has been appointed to publish award-winning association magazine, The Farmer, a title produced on behalf of NSW Farmers.
The Farmer was previously published by custom publisher Medium Rare Content Agency.
“The Farmer provides farmers in New South Wales with a regular update on innovative farming practices and business operations throughout the state as well as the people, places and personalities that represent the core of the New South Wales agricultural community,” said Intermedia Group Publisher James Wells.
“One-third of all farm businesses in Australia are in New South Wales and the growth in smaller farm businesses and boutique rural producers is increasingly rapidly. Annual agricultural production represents over $15 billion in New South Wales alone and generates a quarter of the gross value of agri-production nationally.
“The Farmer has proven itself as a well-regarded publication for hard-to-reach individuals that produce a diverse range of food and fibre commodities and invest strongly in regional communities. Its content appeals to farmers and regional businesses of all shapes and sizes, from corporate farms, family farms as well as small businesses and smaller lifestyle properties.
“The Farmer celebrates its second anniversary with its next edition, the first published by The Intermedia Group. Readership research shows farm owners and decision makers have an above-average household income and are highly-engaged with online purchasing,” Wells said.
NSW Farmers CEO Pete Arkle said The Farmer has quickly become perceived as a premium agriculture title is Australia.
Mr Arkle said a reader survey conducted last year revealed that almost 100 per cent of respondents said The Farmer offers a current and modern reflection of farming and rural life in New South Wales.
“It is a publication that is read cover to cover.”NSW Farmers CEO Pete Arkle
“The readership survey also showed that three in four readers share their issue with family and friends and many copies have also been provided to local schools and rural Airbnbs,” Arkle said.
“The Farmer has won numerous awards and also received international recognition. Politicians are taking notice too, with mentions in Question Time and in our meetings with Ministers, helping to keep the values of agriculture front of mind.”
